This week I wrote about The Dip, the widely beloved two-ingredient fruit dip that’s just a mixture of cream cheese and marshmallow cream.
While that combo is my personal favorite, at least on the sweet side of the spectrum, there are so many really delicious dip duets. Ro-Tel and Velveeta! Sour cream and onion soup mix! Avocado and salsa! Cream cheese and chili!
So let’s swap some snack secrets. What’s your go-to two-ingredient dip? And what do you dip in it?
It's been a million years since I made it, but I think I used to make a pumpkin pie dip ? for Halloween parties ? . I think it was just canned pumpkin and cream cheese. I do remember it was delicious with ginger snaps.
Can of refried beans, topped with a bag of shredded cheese, popped in the oven for ten minutes. It's basically all one note salt and gooey cheese, but it disappears in seconds every time!
Fancy party hors d'oeuvre when I was growing up was a brick of cream cheese with Pickapeppa sauce poured over it, served with Triscuits. The type of pepper sauce and cracker were entirely non-negotiable.
I had to really think about this -- I would say I often have a mayo sriracha dip!! Does that even count? I dip carrots in it all the time....
